Breaking Up with Tornado Suzie by ~Reidsan:iconReidsan:

Suzie was out there, dancing with the sand,
getting angrier and sadder, throwing toys
from her pram, muttering something about
how nobody could ever understand. She says
she's odd, but I wouldn't know, I don't talk
to any other girl tornadoes.

So I stood at a fair distance away and shouted,
"Suzie!" and looked her in what you'd call her eye.
"What?" she yelled from the sky, as I wondered
whether tornadoes could cry. "We need to talk"
I volunteered, but she just sneered and replied
"But we ain't got nothing to talk about no more."

I wondered how a girl that was constantly rotating
could turn her back so definitely, and that's clearly
what Suzie was doing to me. Bugger, I thought,
I can't leave her like this, I must try again. "Suzie,"
I said, "I still think you're a wonderful girl, I love
the tint of your eyes and the highlights on your twirl,

but it just isn't going to work. Human boys need
human girls, and even though I love you better
than anything else in the world, it's for the best
if I go." She recoiled, a strange thing for the wind
to do, and shouted "Reid, what the fuck? You can't
do this to me, how can we break up?"

I stood my ground and said "I'm sorry, Sues,
but you'll find someone else, I promise you that,
what about Galeforce Nine or Hurricane Matt?"
She snorted with laughter, blowing my hat off,
replied "I wouldn't be seen dead talking to those
fat jack-offs. I suppose if you must leave, I can

understand why, but I do wish you'd stay close-by.
You're the only man who can look me in the eye,
and you always promised you'd never make me cry."
"I'm sorry" I said "You still have my love." Sues said
"Oh, that's fine. How about a goodbye hug?" but I
politely declined so's not to join the skyline.

I stayed and watched her storm off, and thought
of better times. I was sad she was not mine, but
I had to let her go in the end. I still call her each
Friday - it's good to be friends.

Thanks a lot. It was, like I've probably mentioned, a lot of fun to write, and I don't know where the idea came from. Glad you enjoyed it.

I like how you continually reference back to the "eye". Nicely done.
